Waiting for the waves

Have you ever surfed? I’ve body surfed since I was a kid living on the Sydney beaches. But I never actually surfed with a board, though I have often watched, for hours, those who did. Now living in California, I have gone from one surf heaven to another.
It’s an interesting concept, surfing. You might be wondering why I chose the word “concept” over the word “sport”. For the sake of this chapter, I’m going to call it a “concept” because the Art of surfing could almost reveal one of the secrets to life: the ability to wait.

New warriorgirl vision for 2011 - release, renewal and blossom

It's going to be an incredible year. I can feel it already. I see it unfolding in two ways. The first I see a great opportunity for renewal. I plan on cleansing, releasing, eliminating and de-cluttering everything that doesn't serve me, and bring my life and my work down to the few things that are important. Secondly, I see it as an opportunity to blossom into creative arenas in uncharted waters, arenas that I have not had time for or had put on the back burner until now, but have always wanted to realize.

Contributing to the world

Tis the season to be jolly and I wanted to post a refreshing note to all my friends and fans this holiday season. I feel particularly thankful for the people in my life right now, as well the opportunities and abundance that i feel so grateful for, and blessed. I also feel a sense of empowerment when I can give to others and contribute to the world around me. I see that with what I do with Songsalive! (my non-profit songwriters organization), the events I put on for charities and also in building community for artists worldwide. What are you doing lately for others?

Here's an excerpt from my book, called Contributing to the world. Hope you like it and check out the new book, JUST GET OUT THERE (grab your holiday copy today!)

Just Get Out There.... I dare you!

I'm at the Taxi Road Rally in Los Angeles, one of my favorite songwriter-centric music conferences that hosts hundreds of songwriters, composers, music industry representatives and retailers over a power-packed weekend at a hotel near LAX. I'm here to speak to songwriters in my own workshop and run my own book booth. I launched my new book, JUST GET OUT THERE, this weekend.

JUST GET OUT THERE is the Artist's bible to achieving abundance, self-empowerment and professional success as an Artist entrepreneur. 300+ pages filled with in-depth tips, tools, steps and resources on getting out there as an Artist, all the while achieving personal, financial and professional success and joy.
